Next week, Atlanta hosts the FIRST LEGO League World Festival, an annual competition of kids building and guiding robots to solve tricky problems.
I described last year’s event in the LEGO chapter in my book, Outside Innovation. I’ll be attending the world finals on Friday and Saturday watching the finalists from 104 teams and 38 countries strut their stuff!
I’m also privileged to be appearing in a Roundtable Discussion on "Innovation 2007: Creating our Future" with a group of luminaries, including:
- Moderator: Richard Warner, Host, “Georgia's Business,” Georgia Public Broadcasting; CEO & President, What’s Up Interactive
- John Abele, Chairman, “FIRST”; Founder Chairman, Retired, Boston Scientific Corporation
- Dr. G. Wayne Clough, President, Georgia Tech
- Nilang Patel, Vice President, Global Engineering R&D/Innovation, The Coca-Cola Company
- Steve Scullen, President, Fidelity eBusiness
- Irving Wladawsky-Berger, Vice President of Technical Strategy and Innovation, IBM
If you’re going to be in Atlanta the end of next week and would like a complimentary invitation to come to this “by invitation only” Roundtable Discussion on Friday, April 13th, please contact Stephen Wands. I’d love to see you and you can also catch the excitement of the FIRST LEGO League competition.
