After discovering my post about Microsoft & Skype, Muhammad Saleem offered up this wonderful Infographic which he originally created for Focus. I love the combination of the Skype timeline, the competitive analysis, and the the depiction of MS's Skype positioning vis a vis its other offerings. In the pros and cons of the acquisition, he doesn't mention the value of Skype's brand to MS, but he does mention the fact that Skype paid $1,000 per active user. That's not a bad price for acquiring customers—assuming they stick!
